Police in Kenova are warning residents to be on the lookout for someone who is impersonating an officer and trying to pull drivers over.

West Virginia State Police, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, the Kenova Police Department and the Ceredo Police Department have received calls about a white or light colored Jeep Wrangler with blue lights pulling drivers over in areas outside the Ceredo and Kenova city limits.

The Ceredo Police Department said officers across the county have been on constant lookout for any vehicles matching the description and said there are no Jeep Wranglers used in any part of the county as marked or unmarked vehicles.

The police department said if you are ever stopped by a vehicle and feel nervous or if something doesn't feel right, call 911. Dispatchers can verify if it is a actual officer pulling your over.
