CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — Kanawha County school officials say Capital High School will be closed Tuesday because they have not received air quality test results for 15 classrooms.
A spokesperson for the school system said they received acceptable air quality results for five of the classrooms, but out of an abundance of caution, decided to wait to open until all results have been turned in.
Mold was found in 11 schools last week, but the other schools were able to open as scheduled on Monday.
Most tests have come back clean in those schools, except for one classroom at Flinn Elementary and one at Alum Creek. Administrators will not be using the affected classrooms until they have gotten safe test results.
