Cabell County 911 warns of fundraising scam
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
The Cabell County 911 Center is warning residents about a fundraising scam acting as an emergency services official to solicit money.
Officials said scammers are using the name of Cabell 911 Director Mike Davis to ask for donations to support the center, Cabell County EMS and local fire services, according to a news release. A phone number in Keyser, W.Va. is being used in the calls.
Cabell 911 or other county services do not participate in any fundraising for financial support, officials said.
Anyone with additional questions can contact Davis at 304-526-8555.
