Armed robbery reported in Pike County, Ky.
PHELPS, KY. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Kentucky State Police said they are investigating an armed robbery in Pike County.
The incident occurred Thursday evening at the Phelps Double Kwik in the Phelps community, according to a news release from State Police.
Troopers responded and determined that an unidentified man entered the business and approached the clerk. The man had a firearm and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of money was removed from the cash register. The man then fled the service station on foot in an unknown direction.
The man was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and sunglasses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Kentucky State Police Post 09 at 606-433-7711. Callers can remain anonymous.
The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Michael Coleman.
