Firefighters battle massive fire at home in Charleston

Fire shoots out of roof of house on Park Avenue in Charleston early Friday morning. (WCHS/WVAH)

Firefighters spent several hours fighting a massive house fire early Friday morning on Charleston's West Side.

Fire could be seen shooting out of the roof at the home on Park Avenue and caused exposure problems to the houses on both sides.

Firefighters at the scene said the home is abandoned.

Crews had part of Washington Street West closed because of their trucks and equipment.

There are no injuries.
