Gerald Burnett always wanted a bookstore. After retiring from his teaching career, he tried opening a bookstore in a few antique malls. Burnett simply had too many books and these ventures never lasted. That was until he drove by the old school house in Buckeye West Virginia and spotted the for sale sign, that's when Gerald literally went "old school" and Buckeye Bend Books was born.

Boasting around 40,000 books, and with plenty of room to display them, Burnett offers every conceivable subject from the endless shelves of that fill the old school house. If you love to read, and are looking for something your local library simply doesn't offer, this is a place you can spend hours. Buckeye Bend Books is open April through October Thursday-Saturday 10pm to 6pm, or as Gerald puts it "by chance".
