Inaugural 'Shawnee Sports Spooktacular' to offer trick or treating on Halloween

    Families in and around Kanawha County have an opportunity to trick or treat on Halloween at the inaugural Shawnee Sports Spooktacular.

    Shawnee Sports Complex and Eyewitness News have partnered for the free community event, which takes place 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31.

    Children are encouraged to wear their best costume to trick or treat. Games, costume contests and lots of candy will be available. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

    WCHS-TV staff members will choose the scariest costume, most creative costume, best sport costume and the most precious costume.

    The West Virginia State University men's and women's basketball, softball, baseball, football and men's and women's tennis teams also will offer free clinics.

    Families must register for the event here.

    Eyewitness News and other businesses will have booths set up with candy and treats.
