Fatal house fire investigated as arson in Cabell County

West Virginia fire marshals said one person was killed in a house fire in Cabell County that is being investigated as an arson.

The fire was reported about 12:50 p.m. Tuesday on Pin Oak Drive in Culloden, dispatchers said. Marshals said one man died and an investigation into the cause is under way.

Investigators said a neighbor reported hearing an explosion. Investigators said they believe it originated in the attic.

Several fire departments from Culloden, Milton and Putnam County responded.
