MILTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —

A Charleston woman was arrested in Cabell County Saturday after police said they stopped her for texting and driving and found marijuana and a gun.

Milton police said they noticed Kacie Wheeler texting and driving with two children in the vehicle, according to a social media post by the police department. Officers also found marijuana and a pistol during a search.

The children, a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old, were not secured in the vehicle, police said.

Wheeler was charged with possession of a controlled substance, prohibited person with a firearm, distracted driving and child neglect with the risk of injury.

She is currently being held in Western Regional Jail on a $20,000 cash bond.
