The man was found in a ditch about 4 a.m. along Joyce Road near Nottingham mobile park, according to Putnam County Sheriff’s Bobby Eggleton.
Deputies said the man left his friend’s home to walk to Sheetz about 2:30 a.m. After he never returned, the man’s friend went to look for him and found him in the ditch.
Family members told investigators that the man, who was not identified by the sheriff’s office, suffered several broken bones in the incident. He is expected to survive.
Eggleton said a suspect vehicle was found close to the scene, but the driver fled the area.
