A cold front to the north brought mostly cloudy skies to the region on Thursday. The front will stay to the north for mostly dry conditions through Saturday, then a second front moves through the region on Sunday to combine with a tropical weather system for heavy rain Sunday through the middle of next week.
Tonight, skies will be mostly cloudy with fog forming late in river valleys. The overnight low temperature will be 56 degrees. Friday will be partly cloudy and dry as the cold front remains to the north of the region with the high temperature warming to 83 degrees.
The weekend will start out with partly cloudy skies along with dry conditions as the front lifts back to the north as a warm front. The high temperature will make it up to a very warm 89 degrees. The trailing cold front will move into the region on Sunday and will merge with the remains of now Tropical Storm Nate for cloudy skies along with rain showers that could be heavy at times. The high temperature will drop to a still mild 80 degrees despite the clouds and showers.
Monday will be cloudy with rain showers as the remnants of Nate move overhead. Rainfall could be heavy at times with the high temperature dropping to 76 degrees. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a few scattered showers between weather systems. The high temperature will jump back up to 80 degrees. Wednesday will see a second cold front move into the region for morning rain showers that will taper off to mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. The high temperature will drop to 76 degrees in the cooler air behind the front. The rainfall totals from the storm systems from Sunday through Wednesday could be as much as 3" in areas. High pressure will move back into the region on Thursday for mostly sunny skies along with dry conditions. The high temperature will fall to 72 degrees as cool air continues to move into the region behind the front. Friday will be mostly sunny and dry as high pressure strengthens over the region. The high temperature will warm slightly to 74 degrees.
The next weekend will start out with mostly sunny skies along with dry conditions with high pressure still in place over the region on Sunday. The high temperature will make it to 75 degrees. Sunday will be partly cloudy and dry with the high pressure dropping a bit to 73 degrees.
