A strong cold front is approaching the region. Ahead of the front, it will be a mild night and very warm day Friday. The high temperature could set an all-time February record high temperature. Strong storms could move in with the front on Saturday with much cooler temperatures taking us through the weekend.

Tonight, skies will be mostly cloudy and dry. The overnight low temperature will be a mild 52 degrees. Friday will be partly cloudy and dry ahead of an approaching cold front. The high temperature will make it to 81 degrees which would come in one degree warmer than the current highest temperature ever recorded in February in Charleston of 80 degrees. Strong storms will move in late at night.

The weekend will start out with the aforementioned strong thunderstorms in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday. The cool air moving in behind the front will drop the high temperature down to a seasonable 51 degrees. Sunday will be partly cloudy and dry as high pressure moves in behind the front. The cooler air following the front will drop the high temperature to 46 degrees.

Monday will be partly cloudy and dry as a warm front moves into the region. The high temperature will make it back up to 57 degrees. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with showers as the warm front stalls over the region. The high temperature will make it up to 64 degrees in the warmer air following the front. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with showers as the trailing cold front moves into the region. The high temperature will drop slightly to 62 degrees. Thursday will be mostly cloudy and dry as high pressure moves in behind the departing front. The high temperature will drop to 48 degrees. Friday will be mostly cloudy and dry. The high temperature will drop slightly to 46 degrees.

The next weekend will start out with partly cloudy skies along with dry conditions as high pressure moves in over the region. The high temperature will warm a bit to 52 degrees. Sunday will be partly cloudy and dry with a high temperature of 54 degrees.

Friday: Partly cloudy, dry and very warm. High 81 degrees and breezy.

Saturday: Morning storms and showers, then mostly cloudy. High 51 degrees.

Sunday: Partly cloudy and dry. High 46 degrees.

Monday: Partly cloudy and dry. High 57 degrees.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with showers. High 64 degrees.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with showers. High 62 degrees.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy and dry. High 48 degrees.

Friday: Mostly cloudy and dry. High 46 degrees.

Saturday: Partly cloudy and dry. High 52 degrees.

Sunday: Partly cloudy and dry. High 54 degrees.
