Woodspun Workshop
Turning Out Art In Randolph County

EYEWITNESS ONLINE WEBCAST VIDEO

Dave Shombert has been a wood turner since 1998. In addition to simple one-piece bowls and platters, his interests include segmented turnings, decorative effects, sculptural pieces, and more. Shombert strives to have variety in his work and is constantly in search of new ideas to try. Woodturning is his passion, not his job. People often ask Dave, particularly about his segmented work, how long it takes to make a piece. Shombert tells them that the time required is meaningless; he simply enjoys the process so much that he'll deliberately make it take longer than it has to.

In addition to being a woodturner, Dave is also an old-time fiddle and banjo player and occasional square dance caller. Life is good!
