Mark Soukup Chairs
Authentic 18th Century Reproductions From Monroe County

EYEWITNESS ONLINE WEBCAST VIDEO

Mark Soukup of Gap Mills in scenic Monroe County, was never drawn to working with wood, but became fascinated by the simple symmetry and craftsmanship of 18th century craftsmen, particularly those who made Windsor chairs. Now a self taught master chair and cabinet maker, Mark's been honing his craft for 25 years. His work can be found in a number of collections including Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and Poplar Forest, and most recently at George Washington's Mount Vernon. Soukup takes great pride and care in every aspect of his work which has earned him glowing accolades and have made his chairs a much sought after item to private collectors and everyday citizens alike.
