For 30 years, Rick Rivard has been making music. Not with his voice, but with his hands. Having always been drawn to native American culture, Rick creates beautiful, hand crafted flutes from his home in Milton, West Virginia. Appalachian walnut, cherry, sassafras, cedar, and redwood are some of the woods used in these precision, hand-crafted instruments. Ricks flutes are designed and constructed with a simple elegance to be appreciated and used by the most skillful player, but are affordable to the beginner as well. Rick and his flutes will be on display this spring at the Vandalia Gathering on the grounds of the state capitol.
