![]() Morgan's Chapel History comes alive in a Berkeley county church
As the cleanup of the oldest church in WV was underway, workers discovered writings and drawings made by soldiers during the civil war under years of old paint. Morgan's Chapel provided refuge for both Confederate and Union soldiers. Seeing the historical importance to WV, Bishop Michie Klusmyer halted renovations immediately and began the process of preserving this glimpse back into the history and lifes of the men involved in the war that pitted brother against brother.
Work is under way to preserve this piece of history and to make it available to the public on a regular schedule. Donations are being accepted for the renovation and preservation of Morgan's Chapel and can be sent to:' Bunker Hill Fund Diocese of WV P.O. Box 5400 Charleston, WV 25362 FOR MORE INFORMATION
