![]() Scenic Train Head into the wilderness in comfort, all aboard the Tygart Flyer.
Cutting through the center of the Monongahela National Forest in central West Virginia, are the unique trains of the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad. With departures from various towns and cities along their route, these trains transport you back in time and to some of the most pristine places in the East.
Our unique collections of trains roll through deep canyons, narrow passages beside sheer rock walls, and unspoiled mountains with vivid views. Along the way, our trains travel beside three scenic cascading rivers, climb to over 4,000 feet in elevation, burrow under the mighty Cheat Mountain (via an 1,800 foot tunnel), and negotiate the two sharpest mainline railroad curves in the U.S. Trips varying in length from a 2-hours to two-days are offered on a variety of schedules throughout the year.
