WVU Basketball: Non-conference schedule is 13 games strong

Bob Huggins' Mountaineers will face the likes of Virginia and Kentucky at home in the 2017-18 season.

The Mountaineer men's basketball program is coming off a "Sweet" season.

As in a Sweet 16 season. WVU's campaign ended with a loss to eventual national runner-up Gonzaga.

The upcoming season will of course feature the rugged slate of Big 12 games.

But the non-conference portion of the schedule is quite challenging as well.

West Virginia opens play November 10 in Germany (which will serve as the first college basketball game in the 2017-18 season) against Texas A&M.

The Mountaineers home slate will include games with Virginia and Kentucky. UVA visits for the first time since 1985 while the Wildcats invade Morgantown for the first time since 1970.

A road game has WVU resuming the basketball version of the Backyard Brawl with a trip to Pittsburgh.
