WVU Basketball: Mountaineers head back to title game

West Virginia and Kansas will meet for a third time Saturday evening when they square off for the Big 12 Conference Tournament championship.

KANSAS CITY (WCHS-TV/WVAH-TV) - Kansas City here we come.

Yet again, the Mountaineer men's basketball team has put itself in position to play for a title.

West Virginia will meet Kansas Saturday evening for the Big 12 Conference Tournament championship.

The Mountaineers earned the right to do so by taking out Texas Tech on Friday, 66-63, in the semifinal round.

WVU's Daxter Miles, Jr. had another big night for the Mountaineers with 22 points. He scored 19 in the tournament's first game against Baylor.

WVU was beaten twice during the regular season by the Jayhawks.

Kansas defeated West Virginia for the title in the tournament two years ago.

Last season WVU fell to Iowa State in the championship game.
