Maryland Ends WVU's Season

Mike Carey and the WVU Women will not be joining Bob Huggins and the WVU Men in the Sweet Sixteen. Maryland ended West Virginia's season Saturday afternoon 83-56 in College Park, Maryland. WVU led 16-12 after one quarter but the Terps used a big second quarter capped by a 70 foot buzzer beater at the halftime buzzer to take a 14 point lead into the break. It was cruise control for Maryland in the second half. Teanna Muldrow led WVU with 16 points in a losing effort. WVU has qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 7 of the last 8 seasons and returns four starters next year.
