Charleston native relishes final season with WVU basketball team

The West Virginia boy’s high school basketball state tournament is currently going on in Charleston, a place where athletes from the Mountain State get to showcase their skills.

Some of those playing in the state tournament may even be West Virginia Mountaineers someday. Although he has not seen the floor much, James Long, a WVU senior guard grew up in Charleston.

“You definitely think back to where it all started. I’ve been playing basketball my whole life. It all started in Charleston; I played high school at George Washington in South Hills. I think about all the great people in Charleston and its made the person I am today,” Long said.

Long transferred to WVU after beginning his collegiate career at Wofford.
