The West Virginia Power will be opening their season on Thursday at home against the Rome Braves.

Where does time go?

The West Virginia Power will begin its 13th season on Thursday evening against Rome, Georgia.

The showdown will be the first of a seven-game homestand to launch the 2017 season.

The Power is a Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates and competes in the South Atlantic League

The Power players have arrived in Charleston, many of whom played last season for the Morgantown-based West Virginia Black Bears.

In fact, this year's Power manager, Wyatt Toregas, was the manager last year with the Black Bears.

The Power will face off with Rome for four games and then entertain Asheville.
