Game 7: Chapmanville powers past Wyoming East for semifinal berth

The Chapmanville Tigers scored a convincing 65-42 victory against the No. 6 seed Wyoming East Warriors Thursday morning at the Charleston Civic Center in the first game of Class AA action.

Chapmanville outscored the Warriors in every quarter, including a 28 point burst in the second period. Wyoming East only managed to score double digits in the second quarter, with 18 points. The Tigers shot 52 percent from the floor (23-44) compared to 29 percent by the Warriors (13-44).

Drew Williamson led the Tigers with 23 points after going 9-11 shooting. Zach Cook and Dylan Brehm each scored 10 points for Wyoming East, with Cook adding 10 rebounds.

The No. 3 Tigers face the winner of No. 2 Bluefield and No. 7 Lincoln at 11:15 a.m. Friday.
