Game 17: Huntington St. Joe advances to eleventh straight Class A title game


Huntington St. Joe is headed to the Class A girls state championship game for an eleventh straight year.

No. 1 St. Joe (19-7) defeated No. 5 Summers County (18-8) 86-46 in a Class A semifinal matchup Friday night.

Shy Paige led the way for the Irish, scoring 29 points and pulling in 8 rebounds. Through two games in the state tournament, Paige is scoring 22.5 points a game.

Dena Jarrells, who scored 19 points, in the Irish's first-round win over Charleston Catholic, scored 17 points in the semifinal game.

For the second consecutive night, Bailee Adkins scored 11 for St. Joe.

Tiffani Cline finished the game with 11 points to lead the way for Summers County.

St. Joe has won eight of the last 10 Class A championships and will look to add a ninth Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
