Game 13: Ravenswood advances to championship after topping Weirton Madonna

Ravenswood punched the first ticket to the West Virginia Boys State Tournament championship round Friday with a 41-36 win against Weirton Madonna at the Charleston Civic Center.

The No. 2 seed Red Devils took a 22-18 lead into the half of the low scoring affair and kept the No. 6 seed Blue Dons at bay through the second half.

Riley Heatherington followed his 30 point performance against Huntington St. Joe Wednesday with 12 points, nine rebounds and eight blocks. Isaiah Morgan led all Ravenswood scorers with 14 points and chipped in eight rebounds.

Weirton Madonna shot just 26 percent from the floor in the contest, compared to 41 percent by the Red Devils. Tavon Jeter and Joey Ewusiak each scored 15 points for the Blue Dons. Ewusiak pulled down 13 rebounds as well.

Ravenswood faces the winner of No. 1 seed Wheeling Central and No. 4 seed Notre Dame at noon Saturday in the championship game.
