"Mookie" Collier wins Kennedy Award
Bluefield High School running back, Latrell "Mookie" Collier is the 2017 Kennedy Award winner.
The award is given to the state's top high school football player, and is the second straight Class AA player to win. Mingo Central's quarterback Jeremy Dillon won the award a year ago.
Collier finished with 2,235 yards and 39 touchdowns, topping the season off with a win over Fairmont Senior in the Class AA title game.
He's the second Beaver to win the award. Quarterback Will Cole was the 2008 Kennedy Award winner.
Colliler will be presented the award May 6 at the 72nd Victory Awards Dinner in Charleston.
