High School Softball: South Charleston stays alive with win over Capital

South Charleston eliminated Capital in girls softball tournament action Tuesday, 8-1.

High school softball teams have started their quest for a spot at Jackson Park in Vienna later this month to play for a state championship.

Sectionals are double elimination and for many the road to Wood County can come to an abrupt halt.

South Charleston won an elimination game on its home field Tuesday night by downing Capital, 8-1.

The Lady Black Eagles will now meet St. Albans. The Lady Dragons lost earlier in the evening, 3-2, to GW.

GW will await the winner of the SC-SA showdown in the Class AAA, Region 3, Section 1 Tournament.
