High School Softball: Hurricane wins MSAC softball crown over Huntington

It was a battle between Huntington and Hurricane in the Mt. State Athletic Conference championship Thursday evening. Hurricane recorded a decisive 12-2 win in five innings.

It was another softball title for Hurricane High.

While not on the same lines as state championships the program has enjoyed in recent seasons, the Putnam County school captured the crown of the highly-competitive Mt. State Athletic Conference.

Hurricane avenged one of its earlier season losses by defeating Huntington in a five-inning game, 12-2.

GW won over Riverside, 6-1, in the consolation game.

Both showdowns were played at John Adams Middle School.
