High School Softball: Adams hoping to lead Hurricane to another title

Katie Adams hopes to held lead Hurricane High to another Class AAA state softball championship later this month.

As the high school softball postseason gets underway, Hurricane is in hopes of winning another title in Class AAA.

The Redskins have will be in search of a third title in the last four years at Jackson Park in Vienna.

Marshall-bound Katie Adams is one of the players head coach Josh Caldwell will rely on to reach the Wood County venue later this month.

Of Adams, Caldwell said he learned how to motivate her early on what has been a magnificent career.

"I said, 'Cant' let anymore by,' and I tempted her with nachos. 'No more passed balls, we'll buy you some nachos. The next 8-10 games, she was a rock. It was the beginning of some good catching."

And thanks in large part to her good catching, Hurricane is the favorite to win it all in Class AAA once more.
