High School Football: Midland to host Hurricane on Friday

Cabell Midland will go after it second straight win on Friday at home against a 2-0 Hurricane team.

ONA (WCHS-TV/WVAH-TV) - Last season, Hurricane High head football coach Jeremy Taylor called his team's victory over Cabell Midland "a program win."

The thrilling 35-31 victory got the Redskins off to a 3-0 start in 2016 - a season which ended in the second round of the Class AAA playoffs.

Hurricane will be aiming for that same record Friday night in Ona on the Knights home campus.

The Redskins have beaten Winfield and Paintsville, Kentucky to start the season.

Midland lost its opener to Cincinnati Anderson before rebounding to knock off South Charleston last week.

Luke Salmons, Midland's head coach, is looking forward to the showdown.
