Game 14: Wheeling Central knocks Tucker County out of finals

Wheeling Central Catholic is heading to the Class A finals after beating Tucker County Friday morning in game 14.

The Maroon Knights (24-2) defeated the Mountain Lions (24-2) 63-46 in the West Virginia girls state basketball tournament semifinals.

Riley Bennington scored the most points for Wheeling Central with 21. Hannah White and Kaylee Reinbeau each scored 14 points for the team.

Sydney Nestor was the lead scorer for Tucker County with 19.

Wheeling Central Catholic will face the other Class A finalist team at 2:30 p.m. Saturday for the championship. St. Joseph Central and Summers County will play at 7:15 p.m. Friday to determine which other Class A team will be in the final game.
