George Washington, Riverside meet in Wendy's Friday Night Rivals Game of the Week

The George Washington Patriots and Riverside Warriors will square off in a Kanawha County battle in our Wendy’s Friday Night Rivals Game of the Week presented by the Marshall Sports Medicine Institute.

George Washington (4-3) will make the 17 mile trek to Belle to take on Riverside (4-4) Friday night.

The Patriots are coming off an idle week but will be looking to win a fourth straight game after starting the season 1-3.

George Washington's defense has been stingy this season, allowing just 17.4 points per game. Offensively, the Patriots are scoring 25.8 points a game.

The Riverside Warriors are coming off a dramatic win over Morgantown. The Warriors used a trick play to convert a two point conversion in overtime to pick up their first ever win over Morgantown, 28-27.

The Warriors' offense was led by quarterback Mark Scites who threw for 292 yards on 20/26 passing. He threw for a touchdown and rushed for two more. Scites also scored the game-winning two point conversion.

Riverside is scoring 28 points a game, but the Warriors' defense is giving up 27.8 points per game.
