Irish give up on WCup replay over Henry hand ball November 21, 2009 8:15 AM DUBLIN Ireland has given up hope of getting its World Cup playoff against France replayed because of Thierry Henry's hand ball.
Football Association of Ireland chief executive John Delaney said Saturday a replay would have restored the integrity of the game in front of a worldwide audience. But he said: "our calls appear to have fallen on deaf ears at the French Football Federation." |
