When folks hear the name Hoppy Shores they usually think "Kanawha County Commissioner."

Perhaps what they didn't know is that this long-time public servant was one of the best athletes ever to grace the Capital City and Kanawha Valley.

He was a football, basketball and track star. He not only won one of the state's most prestigious awards but modeled for the trophy.
