Hoover, Catholic Win State Titles; Midland Comes Up Short

Herbert Hoover and Charleston Catholic both won state baseball championships in thrilling fashion.
The Huskies got the day underway with the Class AA Championship game. Hoover trailed Fairmont Senior 5-1 at one point but scored 6 runs in the top of the 6th- all with two out- to score the come from behind 7-5 win.
Charleston Catholic led Magnolia 9-2 but had to hold on to win by a final score of 9-8. Magnolia had the game tying run on second base when the Irish finally closed the game down. Catholic wins the first state championship in school history.
Cabell Midland led Hedgesville 2-0 after one inning but a 4 run 4th inning for the Eagles was too much to overcome. Midland falls short in it's quest at a second state title with a 4-2 loss.
