Geno Smith toyed with not going back to Radio City Music Hall in New York for the second day of the NFL Draft.
He had a change of heart. It's a good thing.
Smith, you see, is staying in the Big Apple after being taken by the New York Jets in the second round. Smith was the 39th player chosen overall.
It was thought that Smith would be a first round pick, but that didn't happen on Thursday.
Smith's two favorite pass catchers at WVU - Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey - are going to be teammates. Austin, who was the overall No. 8 pick on Thursday by St. Louis, got some familiar company when Bailey was taken by the Rams in the third round at pick No. 92.
Speaking of pass catchers, Marshall's Aaron Dobson was grabbed up by the New England Patriots in the second round. Dobson was the No. 59 selection overall.
Meanwhile, WVU takes out Kansas in baseball, Marshall tops Tulane in 11 and State takes two from UC. Check out the highlights.
Also, the 81st annual Gazette/Friends of Coal Relays got underway at UC Stadium.
