Marshall's road woes finally subsided on Wednesday night in Orlando.
Tom Herrion had four players in double figures as the Herd officially said good night to the Knights of Central Florida...at least as a Conference USA member. The Herd defeated UCF 82-70 for a key C-USA victory. UCF moves to the Big East next season.
It marked the second time this season the Herd gained a win over the Knights. The win was Marshall's first true road win of the season. Now 12-15 overall and 5-7 in the league, Marshall returns home to meet UAB Saturday evening.
On the high school scene, there was plenty of girls sectional tournament action on The Road To Charleston
Wednesday night. GW, Capital, Winfield and St. Albans were AAA winners, Clay picked up a victory in AA action and Catholic was victorious at home in a Class A encounter.
