No overtime was needed this time around.

West Virginia defeated Texas for the second time in the last two months with a 60-58 decision on Monday at the WVU Coliseum.

The win sends the Mountaineers to 11-11 on the season and 4-5 in the Big 12. Texas dropped to 10-12 overall and 2-7 in league play.

Jabarie Hinds and Deniz Kilicli each scored 14 points while Eron Harris delivered 13 to lead WVU's offensive attack.

Also, the Charleston Catholic boys basketball team is still number one in the latest AP Poll for Class A. One of their leaders is our latest Turnpike Scholar Athlete of the Week.

On the high school courts Monday night, Riverside dismantled Ripley. Check out the highlights from Jackson County.
