It was a rough Thursday night for area West Virginia Conference basketball teams.

The only winner was the West Virginia State women's squad. David Smith's crew knocked off West Liberty, 73-70 at Fleming Hall.

Meanwhile, State's men's team was crushed by league-leader West Liberty.

In Fairmont, the University of Charleston fell in both the men's and women's games.

Former Sissonville High star Kaitlin Snyder had a triple-double for the Fairmont Lady Falcons.
