The third installment of the New Era Pinstripe Bowl is about to be played, and West Virginia hopes to buck the trend.

The first two were captured by teams from the Big East Conference - Syracuse and Rutgers.

Funny, West Virginia once was a member of the league but now calls the Big 12 home.

Syracuse will provide the opposition at Yankee Stadium. Like West Virginia, the Orange will be leaving the league to join forces in the ACC.

Regardless of conference affiliation, the two head coaches are hoping to end their seasons on a high night in New York.

Weather was a topic of conversation Friday during the final news conference for the bowl event.

Josh Lewis reports from the Big Apple.
