WELCOME
    GOOD EVENING, I'M RICK LORD...

    AND I'M ELIZABETH NOREIKA...

    THIS IS EYEWITNESS NEWS.

KANAWHA COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY IT IS A STRONG POSSIBILITY THAT BODY FOUND YESTERDAY IS MURDER VICTIM KAREEM HUNTER OF CHARLESTON.

THE MEDICAL EXAMINER STILL HAS TO CONFIRM THAT I-D.

HUNTER DISAPPEARED SEPTEMBER 23RD AND ONE WOMAN HAS ALREADY BEEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH HIS MURDER.

RALEIGH COUNTY SHERIFF STEVE TANNER SAYS THAT BODY WAS FOUND IN A SHALLOW GRAVE AND IT APPEARS TO BE HUNTER.

ANCHOR KALLIE CART JOINS US NOW WITH MORE ON THE INVESTIGATION...KALLIE?

KALLIE @ KIOSK
ELIZABETH..... IT IS TOO EARLY TO TELL IF IN FACT THAT BODY IS KAREEM HUNTER. HUNTER DISAPPEARED 5 WEEKS AGO.

EYEWITNESS NEWS REPORTER BOB AARON SAYS DEPUTIES SPENT NEARLY TWO DAYS PROCESSING THE CRIME SCENE BEFORE REMOVING THE BODY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.

KELSEY MARIE LEGG IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND ON A MURDER CHARGE, ACCUSED OF LURING HUNTER TO HER APARTMENT WITH PLANS TO HAVE HIM KIDNAPPED. PRELIMINARY AUTOPSY REPORTS ARE EXPECTED SOON.

BUT WITHOUT THAT CONFIRMATION THAT THIS IS HUNTER -- SOME OF HIS FAMILY MEMBERS SAY THEY'RE TRYING NOT TO GET THEIR HOPES UP...

THEY HAVE BEEN HOLDING OUT HOPE THAT SOMEHOW HE WOULD BE FOUND ALIVE...

BUT OTHERS SAY THIS IS A STEP TOWARD GETTING JUSTICE FOR KAREEM.... AND THEY HOPE THAT WITH THIS DISCOVERY, MORE ANSWERS WILL COME TO LIGHT ABOUT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED BACK ON SEPTEMBER 23RD... AND WILL LEAD POLICE TO THE OTHER PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS MURDER.

    KAREEM'S BROTHER

2401 im just hoping that now we will get the answers, justice, it might be closure but justice it's not for my family and friends its for Kareem

KANAWHA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES SAY TWO MEN WERE SEEN PUTTING KAREEM'S BODY IN THE TRUNK OF A CAR... THOSE MEN HAVE NEVER BEEN FOUND.

IN THE STUDIO... KALLIE CART... EYEWITNESS NEWS.

PUTNAM ANIMAL SHELTER
A NEW ANIMAL SHELTER EIGHT YEARS IN THE MAKING OPENED ITS DOORS THIS MORNING IN PUTNAM COUNTY.

THE ANIMAL SHELTER WAS PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS THE PUTNAM COUNTY ANIMAL RELIEF CENTER.

IT'S NOW LOCATED IN RED HOUSE AND IS HOME TO EIGHT CATS AND 20 DOGS.

THE 2.5 MILLION DOLLAR FACILITY HAS A SEPARATE ENTRANCE FOR INCOMING ANIMALS AND THOSE UP FOR ADOPTION.

THERE'S ALSO AN AREA TO QUARANTINE, SPAY AND NEUTER ANIMALS.

SHELTER WORKERS SAY THE LARGER SPACE ALLOWS THEM TO ACCOMODATE MORE ANIMALS ... AND EUTHANIZE LESS.

"With the bigger facilities now we'll be able to hold animals a lot longer than before. We're about 3 times the size we were before. We make every effort to find a good home if we can."

THE BUILDING IS 10-THOUSAND SQUARE FEET AND SITS ON 10 ACRES OF LAND.

IF YOU'D LIKE TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL, YOU MUST BE A PUTNAM COUNTY RESIDENT.
