Pizza Dip
From Barbara Lamp

You saw it Monday, January 24, 2000 during Good Morning West Virginia.

Super Bowl time is here again, and with that in mind, I have a delicious Pizza Dip for you to try. Many of you probably think of pizza when you watch football and this would be perfect if that pizza craving hits you. The recipe is made in a 9 l/2" to 10" inch pie pan, but can be easily doubled using a 9" x l3" pan and baking for just a few minutes longer.

In a small bowl, mix the following together:

  • 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese or neufchatel cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 t. oregano
  • 1/8 t. red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1/8 t. garlic powder

  • Spread in pie plate.

Pour over top and spread: l/2 cup pizza sauce (I like Contadina)

    Now top pizza sauce with:

  • 1/2 c. chopped pepperoni
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 c. chopped green onion

  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Then top with grated cheeses - mix l/2 cup mozzarella and l/2 cup cheddar)

To double, bake a 9 x l3 dish for 20 minutes or so.

Serve with crispy breadsticks or bagel chips.
