Grandma's Homestead Cut-out Cookies From LeeAnn Miller You saw it Wednesday, April 5, 2006 1-1/2 cups white sugar 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup margarine 2 eggs, beaten 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 5 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup evaporated milk 1 teaspoon vanilla Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the first 3 ingredients. Add eggs. Sift together dry ingredients. Add evaporated milk and flour mixture alternately to the cookie mixture. Add vanilla. Refrigerate dough (about an hour), this makes rolling out the dough easier. Roll out on lightly floured surface about 1/8-1/4 inch. We like 1/4 inch thick! Use your favorite cookie cutters. Bake 10-12 minutes for thinner cookies and 12-14 minutes for thicker cookies. More Good Morning West Virginia and Eyewitness News at Noon Recipes |
