Steve Borecky
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, I came to Eyewitness News in January of 2006.I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Ohio University (Go Bobcats!) in 2005, and then earned a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University in 2008. Growing up, my parents had to pry me away from watching the Weather Channel on TV, and having spent my early years in Northeast Ohio's famous "Snow Belt" I know first hand of Old Man Winter's wrath. During the Blizzard of 1993, nearly two feet of snow fell at my home in one day! When I'm not forecasting the weather, you can find me reporting for Eyewitness News, especially on weather related events. During my time here, I have covered snowstorms, tornadoes, and reported outside as severe thunderstorms ripped through the area. I even did on-air reports from Jamaica while Tropical Storm Gustav interrupted my vacation in 2008. Before arriving in the Charleston-Huntington area, I worked in Zanesville, Ohio as an anchor and reporter. In my free time I enjoy keeping up on my Cleveland sports teams and following the stock market (I minored in Business Economics at OU). Traveling is also a big hobby and I'm always trying to visit new places every year. If you have any great story ideas or any suggestions on places in West Virginia that are worth checking out, drop me a line at sborecky@wchstv.com. Return to Eyewitness News Newscasters Menu |
