Patrick McMurtry
After trying to get to West Virginia area since 1999, I was finally able to get a job with Eyewitness News in March of 2004. Living in the Mountain State will be something different for us considering we've been lived in the tropics most of the last fifteen years. All of my kids were born on American colonies: my oldest son, Jake was born on St. Thomas, while my daughter Teal and youngest son Quinn were born on Guam. We've been blessed with interesting lives which, hopefully, will calm down now that we're settled here. We all enjoy skiing, golf, camping and just hanging out together. We are also die hard Tennessee Volunteer fans-Go Vols! I am also lucky to be included in the WCHS/WVAH family where I anchor Good Morning West Virginia with Jennifer and Doug. My favorite part of the job, though, is covering West Virginia Wildlife with the best photojournalist I've ever worked with-Brad Rice. The Division of Natural Resources does a great job on this project and nothing beats getting out of the office and into the woods covering the best our state has to offer. I also really enjoy reporting spot news and chasing storms. So far I've covered thirteen hurricanes/typhoons and have loved every minute! The most rewarding part of my gig here at Eyewitness news is the chance to meet folks while I'm out and about. Give me a shout sometime...I'd love to here from you!You can contact Patrick at: Return to Eyewitness News Newscasters Menu |
