Mark Martin photo My late grandfather, George Russell Heiskell (pronounced like high school), told my parents they should let me try T-Ball. They did, and the rest as they say is history.

I played sports from that moment on until reaching the age of 21 when my football days wrapped up at Marietta College. I earned my B.A. in Radio-TV at Marietta. During those college years I started working for newspapers and radio stations. I also did some TV work while in college.

There's nothing quite like covering sports for a living. I love all aspects of the business from anchoring to reporting to play-by-play to sideline work to writing to editing to shooting. It is a labor of love.

The greatest part of my job has been all of the great people I've met through the years and the abundance of friendships made.

I love hearing from people and I'm really good at responding. Give me a call, write a letter (yes, I still write them) or, send along an e-mail.
