Deborah Linz
I came to WCHS/WVAH in march of 1999. I am a native of Maryland. I actually grew up in Olney, Maryland. I graduated from Virginia Tech. Yes, I am a HOKIE and proud of it.My first TV job was in Roanoke, Virginia as a noon weather anchor and medical reporter. After a year and a half I became the weekend reporter at WICD TV in Champaign, Illinois. From there I took the weekend anchor job at WICS in Springfield, Illnois. I won several A.P. awards for Best Reporter in downstate Illinois, Best Investigative Reporting and Best Series. In 1995 I moved back to Maryland and became a free lance reporter. I worked for WBAL in Baltimore and nearly two years at WRC In Washington, D.C. I also worked for TVSD, a division of the network NBC. There I did national packages and live shots for NBC affiliates all over the country. It was very exciting talking to anchors in Raleigh, North Carolina and two minutes later being on the air in Seattle. In January of 1999, Bob Yuna, the news director of WCHS/WVAH, called me about a full time anchoring job on the Fox affiliate in Charleston, WV. It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I have enjoyed working here very much and I hope you enjoy watching! You can contact Deborah at: Return to Eyewitness News Newscasters Menu |
