from Eyewitness News Online Ohio inmates help teens to talk about drug use November 06, 2009 5:57 PM MARYSVILLE, Ohio A group of inmates from a central Ohio correctional facility recently visited a high school to share what they have in common. All are adults, all have used drugs, and all bottled up their ordinary teenage angst. They told the students to reach out to someone, anyone at all. The inmates from the West Central Community Based Correctional Facility in Marysville used skits in an attempt to illustrate the perils of drug use for Marysville High School students. Some student chose to reach out during the sessions. One boy told the others that he smokes pot and wants to change his life. A girl said she'd been abused. And another boy said his mom is in jail and he doesn't know what to do. Inmate Nick Mayse says his life matters if even one of the students makes a change. |
