Heavenly Strawberry Torte
Summertime Treat For Your Family
May 27, 2011

Nothing says welcome to summer quite like strawberries. Lee Ann Miller is sharing a refreshing layer dessert that's quick and easy from Ohio's Amish Country.

Ingredients
1 Angel Food Cake

Filling
1 cup. sugar
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz Cool Whip

Topping
2 1/2 cups. cold water
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 box Strawberry Danish Dessert
1 quart of cut strawberries

Directions
Cut the angel food cake into small bite sized pieces

For the filling, mix sugar and cream cheese until blended, then fold in Cool Whip.

Bring first four topping ingredients to a boil (all except strawberries); cook until clear and glossy. Cool. Once the mixture has cooled fold in the cut strawberries.

Place 1/2 of the cake pieces in to a large bowl. Spread 1/2 of the filling mixture, then 1/2 of the topping mixture on top. Repeat layers (cake, filling, topping).
