Bridge Demolition
Demolition Of St. Albans-Nitro Bridge

Eyewitness News - Bridge Demolition - Live Stream


The St. Albans-Nitro Bridge is going out with a bang, at least the remaining St. Albans section of the structure.

At wchstv.com., Eyewitness News will take you there to see the live stream broadcast of the detonation, so you can see the bridge as it comes tumbling down.

The dismantling of the bridge originally was scheduled to be piece by piece, but this strategy was changed because the other method wasn't working.

Plans call for detonating the explosives attached to the remaining section of the bridge on the St. Albans side at 10 a.m. Friday, March 1. The remaining Nitro section of the bridge will be detonated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8.

The bridge is expected to be closed for a year while the replacement project is completed.
